Commercial & advertising casting
What is a commercial headshot? A commercial headshot is the bright, open, approachable look used for advertising, brand campaigns, and comedic or family-facing roles. It is deliberately different from a theatrical headshot, which is shot for dramatic film and television submissions. Most working actors in Los Angeles carry both, because agents submit them against different breakdowns.

The look is warmth, not just a smile

A commercial image has to read in about a second. What sells it is a relaxed, genuine expression and eyes that are actually engaged, not a held grin. We direct for that in short bursts, giving you real prompts rather than asking you to look natural. Lighting stays clean and bright, wardrobe stays simple, and the background stays out of the way.

Shot to match how you are submitted

Commercial breakdowns move quickly. Your images need to be current, correctly cropped, and instantly readable as a type – the young professional, the friendly neighbor, the parent, the best friend. Shooting several looks in one session means you leave with a range you can genuinely submit against, instead of one frame doing every job.

How sessions run

Sessions are look-based, and every look includes one fully retouched final. You review your complete gallery before choosing favorites, and additional retouched images can be added at any time. Everything is photographed at the Downtown LA studio at 1130 S Flower St. See current session options and pricing.
