1.  Commercial Headshots – Commercial headshots are more than a picture of someone smiling.  Commercial headshots capture the personality and warmth of an actor, actress or performer in commercial lighting.   Here is a tip.  Anytime you are in front of the camera you need to be “On”.  Truly successful performers are able to be “On” at the drop of a dime.  Newbies need time to focus and warm up for the camera.  Most people don’t like walking around smiling like they are in a never ending tooth paste commercial.  I suggest practicing random smiling techniques before coming into the studio and trying to do it in front of the camera.  Force yourself to smile at times when you wouldn’t normally.  See what different responses you get.  Forcing smiles is big part of the craft.  =) Practice makes perfect.

2.  Theatrical Headshots – Theatrical headshots are a genuine representation of the character of an actor, actress or performer.  I believe a great theatrical headshot has a bit of mystery that draws a view in and makes you want to know more about them.  The lighting can vary but needs to be flattering for the face shape and the subjects persona.
